Review - Monukka Raisins - Nuts.com
I found Monuka raisins when I started eating seeded fruits. I finally found theme at nuts.com and here's my review.
Raisins, like watermelons are hard to find seeded, raisins even more so. Luckily I stumbled on a website named nuts.com and ordered some monukka raisins, they were really good. They're as sweet as any raisin you've tasted and the seed inside is soft enough to crunch and easy to eat. The seeds are not bitter as expected, its actually a pleasant seed. Note, monukka raisins are about 3 times larger than your average sun-maid raisins. If you enjoy dry fruits or raisins in general I highly recommend them.
It's important to note that I have seen monukka raisins at Whole Foods Market but unfortunately they were seedless. I have not purchased monukka raisins from elsewhere so nuts.com is a consistent source for seeded raisins.
Update 2: I noticed the ones from the middle eastern market says that they contain sulfur (something to be avoided). I then called nuts.com and they told me that their monukka raisins do not contain sulfur. That also may explain why they taste fresher.
Update: Right after I wrote this review some monukka raisins showed up at my job. I also saw that they were labeled munakka. The ones from the middle eastern market were a bit different in taste. The ones from nuts.com seem fresher.
If you wish to order monukka raisins visit a middle eastern market nuts.com
