Sea moss (Irish moss) is often found in full seaweed form or in powder. We will show you how to prepare dry sea moss into sea moss gel for use in smoothies, shakes or pastries. Sea moss gel can then be refrigerated for two weeks.
Ingredients:
- Sea moss (Irish moss) seaweed
- Blender, cooking pot
- Start with a small amount, about a handful of sea moss seaweed.
- Soak in water for 15 minutes.
- Remove the sea moss from soaking.
- Rinse sea moss.
- Replace the soaking water with fresh water.
- Place the sea moss in a pot just enough to cover the sea moss.
- Simmer the sea moss in water for 20 minutes.
- Remove from stove and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Blend together with the water used to simmer.
- Pour it into a glass jar for later use.
