Kamut Puff Treats, a spin on the original rice krispies treats recipe. Made with kamut or khorasan wheat puff cereal instead of rice krispies, also nut butter and sweetener instead of marshmallows.
This kamut puff treats recipe calls for nut or seed butter, the easies one you may find in tahini butter which is made from ground sesame seeds. The walnut or brazil nut butter is something you may need to make at home. The main ingredient however is Kamut puffs which is made solely by Khorasan Wheat (Kamut), it's an ancient grain and not to be confused with conventional wheat. I've seen Kamut puff cereal sold at health food stores by brands such as Nature's Path and Arrowhead Mills.
Also, this recipe calls for coconut oil, which works best of the taste and texture that coconut oil offers. Coconut oil liquifies at room temperature so be sure to have it read for this recipe to better mix with the other ingredients, do not add heat to the coconut oil.
